I definitely think so. However, I think we are better "longterm" with what we got in the deal.

I was hoping the we got both for the 2024 season. In my opinion, DR would have benefited by a redshirt year, assuming Kyle would have won the starting job. But DR wasn’t coming to NU to sit on the bench.
Well he kind of got pushed out of the door at tOSU who then replaced him with Will Howard. Interesting. I am not sure how much of an upgrade that was for tOSU. I guess Howard is probably a bit better runner and I think his passing stats are similar but yardage less and completion percentage higher. But they have made it to the title game this year. He could have redshirted at Georgia, too. I think there is no substitute to getting out on the field.
He likey would have got a start in a playoff game.

It’s interesting to me that the two QBs in the NC game aren’t highly regarded high profile 5-star recruits. Riley Leonard and Will Howard are good decent above average QBs but they’re also not Quinn Ewers.
Also my uneducated opinion is that Howard wasn’t much different than McCord as a competent QB. Especially since Howard was essentially going to lose the KSU QB competition if he stayed there.
Maybe chasing after that expensive 5-star recruit isn’t the thing to do.

Proves that football is still a team sport.
KSU's QB Avery Johnson took a step back this year They would have had a better record with Howard, same with how OU pushed Dillion Gabriel out as to please their 5 star freshman and how did that work out? Also like when NC State pushed Russell Wilson out for a young back up and that did not go well either but Wilson had success at Wisconsin.

As long as they keep putting talent around him and refilling his NIL, I think we’ve got him. But after this year if we don’t win 9+, I bet he’s gone either way
