Kyle Crooks New "Voice of the Huskers"

I was bored so I went to Youtube to look Mr. Crooks up and I liked what I heard :thumbsup:
Young and Enthusiastic but not over board and has a good voice for play by play in my opinion.
Welcome to the Team and bring some long johns its colder in the booth come October and November in the BIG than in the SEC ;)
 
heard 3 interview with him in last 24 hours, seems like a sharp, humble guy. hopefully the fanbase will go easy on him.... its very difficult to not compare him to greg..... he needs to be his own guy, and he seems to be a good choice. gotta have good chemistry with damon benning, which seems he already has. hope it works well enuf for him to be here til his late 60s, and retire as a husker legend

I agree, I think he's gonna work out about as well as anyone replacing an icon and a legend in Greg Sharpe. Unlike a Kevin Kugler type who couldn't be bothered to learn the pronunciation of opposing player names (Ibrahim is pronounced Eebraheem, not Eyebraham or any of the other two or three pronunciations that he used all game long v. Minnesota), I'm pretty sure Kyle will put in the due diligence to get that right. All that took from Kugler was one quick call to the opposing radio announcer. Kyle will make that call. Greg always got the names correct, to him it was a matter of professionalism.

I know our fan base is changing, but I'll be surprised if any of them steps out of line to criticize Kyle under these circumstances. Greg's memory is going to be hovering over every game and he'll look after Kyle.
 
It is just where we are now. The new Nebraska football play-by-play announcer has absolutely no connection to Nebraska (other than $).

Maybe he came to Nebraska to be the play by play voice for the Nebraska Football team since he didn’t do that at Florida.

How about we trust that the new PBP announcer has the best intentions and give him a chance before questioning his commitment to the athletic department/university.
