It was good to see him get a TD in the bowl game. Seems like a guy that needs more playing time. Will he be our big back next year? Replace Dowdell?

Will be interesting to see what they do with Connor Booth. He’s an interesting piece of the current recruiting class.Connor Booth?
Jamarion is listed at 6'0" and 185lbs .... he may be the real deal but to me 185 seems slight ... certainly not a between-the-tackles type RB.I'm guessing they expect Parker to be the real deal. Could be wrong obviously, but that's my guess.
Connor Booth?
Very rarely do "great" backs become available.I think if a great back becomes available in the portal we should try to get him.

My only issue with Ives is, what little we have seen on kickoffs and a few carries, he doesn't run big. Parker may very well be 185, but that is more than enough size if he has good vision and can run behind his pads. Jmo. Ps, would love Booth to get healthy, as I think he could be a factor immediately.Jamarion is listed at 6'0" and 185lbs .... he may be the real deal but to me 185 seems slight ... certainly not a between-the-tackles type RB.
He is a 4-star. I am sure he was promised a legit shot to play if not start. Dowdell is listed at 225, Ervin at 220, Rhamir at 200, Ives at 210.
I am sure S&C will add good weight on but will he be able to add weight without losing speed/quickness?
I get a Rex Burkhead vibe from Booth after watching some highlights,My only issue with Ives is, what little we have seen on kickoffs and a few carries, he doesn't run big. It was clear Satt had his favorites (Fidone and Dowdell), which limited playing time for others at the position. Based on what Rhule and Dana have said, they are extremely high on him and will give him every opportunity to get some reps. I wouldn't put too much stock in the fact he barely got time last year. Hell, HH wasn't even really given a look at TE until DH showed up. I think that would have happened regardless of who transferred or not.The TD was the only carry Ives got - I'm guessing he got the tote because he was a hometown boy.
Ives has been pretty unimpressive so far in his Husker career. 6 carries for 7 yards, a couple kick returns (including a botch)... He was a lightly regarded guy from HS and that wasn't able to impact a position group that spent 66% of the year looking for an answer. Before Dowdell's departure I was thinking that he may have been a roster cut.
The one "hometown" carry Kwinton got was the only one he got in 4 games under Dana. Same as Gabe Erving, much less than rahmoir. I'm sure the staff would love for Ives to take over the backup rb job. But based on past usage, pedigree, and production, I'm not sure he's the one they have penciled in.It was clear Satt had his favorites (Fidone and Dowdell), which limited playing time for others at the position.
