Just had a run in with a bear.

About to go outside and about 20 feet away was this bear looking at me. I stopped, opened the storm door and hollered at him. He responded well by slowly turning away where I hollered louder and he started sauntering, so I slammed close the storm door and that got him loping.

We've had neighbors up doing the memorial thing and likely left out some good smelling stuff. He looked thin, early in the year as it is, but he was a good sized bear.

Gun was further away than the bear. And he went running up the driveway towards the neighbors instead of heading into the woods here.

My fourth run in with a bear. Felt safe this time. One of the times it was a small cub/yearling, I chased him off the porch, wasn't worried then either.
Just the same, I think I'm staying in tonite.

Oh, a friend of mine used to bow hunt them. He stopped after his first bear, and it was a Young one too. He kept offering me steaks and hamburger lol
