The trailer dropped this week. It doesn't give away too much, looks like Harley is going to be in this one, and they're both nuts. Seems like there are going to be a number of fever dreams and hallucinations, so I'm curious where those will fit in. And the final clip for the trailer is chilling and great. I hope this movie can live up to any hype it receives.

character was already tired and old, add in gaga and its pass for me.

My sons and I went and saw the first one in the theaters. Joaquin Phoenix was really good in it. But, I wouldn't say I actually liked the movie. It was more disturbing than entertaining.

I went and saw it opening day, and I probably will with this one too. I really enjoyed the movie, but looking back, I actually wish it went even more disturbing, even darker than it was. He was portrayed as sympathetic, and the Joker should be fun and terrifying, but never sympathetic.

I must see this movie. High hopes for it. I set the bar high because Joaquin Phoenix has impressed me. So I hope the sequel doesn't disappoint me.

I loved the first one. No complaints. But I am not surprised at all that everyone doesn't feel the same way. I can empathize with people who prefer the Joker to be depicted in a way that is more in keeping with the iconic character that a different author imagined him to be. I also think that many people watched some or all of the first Joker movie and discovered that they just weren't interested in exploring how another author imagines the Joker's origin story.

And let's face it, even if Joaquin Phoenix were to make a movie in which he portrays the Joker at a much later point in the character's life, Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is never going to be Heath Ledger's Joker. The fans will never forget "The Dark Knight". That's a hard act to follow. Luckily for me, I am flexible. I will be pleased to see another rendition of Joaquin Phoenix's version of the psychopath.

Yup. I actually have the mindset that Joker (and now maybe Joker 2?) is a legit prequel to Heath Ledger's Joker. Phoenix was great in this role, and while I agree with you that no one will surpass Ledger's Joker, I think this version has been interesting to watch.

It was basically a musical which is definitely not my cup of tea. The story is actually good, and answers some questions that were left unanswered from the Dark Knight Trilogy.
The musical aspect is what she cited, and couldn’t get past that
