I just learned theres going to be a spinoff movie released next year called "Ballerina", and stars Ana de Armas.
It is set in the period of time between JW3 and JW4

Really liked the movie.
I wouldn't say it's the "best" one (yes, it has a lot of the same "over the top" fight sequences as the earlier movies), but it does a few things different with the fight scenes so that it doesn't get stale. Such as the camera angle in the apartment fight. Shot from above with the roof cut away, you could see all the rooms, walls, furniture, etc at once, and you could see the enemies positions and movements before John encountered them. It was like watching a video game. In addition to that, a new weapon was used, a "dragons breath" shotgun. It really cool from a bird's-eye view to see that weapon being used to light up the bad guys, as well as seeing all the burning piles of dead guys in all the different rooms at once

The "frogger" like challenge when fighting in traffic amongst the cars in the roundabout was cool too. So many people were hit by cars. Just when John was about to shoot someone, they would get launched in the air by a car. I'll bet those scenes where scary to film. So much could go wrong. The 360 camera shots when John was still in his car were neat.

The directors are aware of the "cartoonish" aspect of the fight scenes, so they just had some fun with it. I've never seen so many people get bit in the nuts by dogs before in one movie. So many people getting hit by cars in the roundabout scene was silly/funny too.

And I laughed every time someone (including John) fell down the stairs near the end of the movie. The continuous falling -- it was so absurd it was funny. And the exhausted look on his face when he looks at the 222 steps he has to climb up -- it reminded me of Po in 'Kung Fu Panda'

I was either grimacing or smiling throughout most of the movie.

The additional storylines and exposing more of the rules and complexities of the inner workings of the 'High Table' and operations of the syndicate was intriguing.

And as always, really impressed with the dedication to their craft for the actors and stuntmen. Several months of training and choreography were put in by all of them to create the product we saw on screen.

She's shiny.

She alone would make it worth watching.
