here is Shaq at 17 in high school.. noticeably bigger than Bol.. at least right now. Of course Manute was never big either.. so it could work out.
If his game is that good. The sky hook would work today like it did then, maybe better defense, but that would have been up to Kareem to use it.
In the 90s Westen Nebraska CC got a couple of 7-2 twins from South Africa. They routinely got pushed around by bigger bodied guys 6-8 inches shorter than them and they were over 250 lb.
Manute was never a scoring threat, especially inside. He got more playing time his rookie year only because he was the tallest player to ever play.
It's going to take a lot of skill and more body mass to have an impact in college, but the kids only a sophomore and seems to have some top developers around him.
