I noticed that several schools are scoring deals from $10-17 million for jersey patches. Ohio State, Texas, aTm seem to be the big ones. Did we get a deal? Anyone call Runza or Nebraska Furniture?

From the OWH this afternoon ..

Through Playfly Sports, Nebraska explored finding a corporate sponsor for a jersey patch, similar to the Big 12, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

NU ultimately chose to pass on adding a patch in 2026. OSU and ND’s deals are larger than a jersey patch, Dannen said — “there are campus-wide deals activated with it” —but there are lingering questions about whether the jersey patches can be worn in postseason games or sewn onto jerseys being sold in stores.

“That’d change the value of the jersey patch,” Dannen said. “And, quite honestly, there are 130 schools that are on the market for jersey patches and, next year, there’ll be 10. Most schools are going to have multi-year deals. I would rather sit and wait.”

The Huskers will have the "A Winning Tradition" patch sewn onto the redesigned jerseys, Dannen said. They did not appear on the recently unveiled jerseys, Dannen said, because Adidas doesn't install the patch; NU sews it on.

NFM...

never gonna happen. thats a wholly owned property of the Berkshire Hathaway corporation.....

From what I have seen, the schools that Have went this route are all with national Brands. Runza and NFM are not

I know many joke including me that Runza should be on the uniform.

Runza would not have that type of cash anyways to put towards a yearly sponsorship and doesn’t need to advertise like that on the Nebraska uniform.

Runza already is a well known institution within the state and has the exposure/brand identity amongst the people whether their is a logo on the uniform or not.

They already sell the product in the stadium which helps to keep their brand presence in front of the mind of the consumer as many fans come from around the state/region for football games.
