Jack hoffman passed away.

I was at UNL for the three titles during the 90s. As much as I loved that time, my favorite play will always be Jack’s TD run. I’m absolutely heartbroken for the family, and the pain that they’ve suffered over the years.

The only solace (and it’s paltry compared to losing family members), is the tremendous impact that Jack has made in his too short lifetime, both within Nebraska and nationally.

Jack has served a purpose in life. He helped bring attention to a horrible disease, and because of that extra attention, Jack has maybe made a difference in the lives of kids for generations to come. Well done young man. I wish you and your family peace and happiness for all time.

I hope Jack gave his Dad a hug for the first time in a long time.

God gave him a will of a giant but finally decided to bring him home to be with his dad. Sleep well might warrior you were an inspiration to us all.

Very sad. RIP Jack. Condolences to his family and friends, including his friend Rex, who decided not to let a photo op be just a photo op and led to us getting to meet young Jack.

Rest in peace, Jack. Scored the most important touchdown in Husker history and made every Nebraskan proud. I hope NU does something significant to memorialize him. One thought I had was to make the number 22 jersey special in a similar way A&M does with the number 12. It would be cool if they awarded it yearly to a Nebraska walk-on (maybe the only walk-on on the team) or something like that. Lots of things they could do and hope they explore them all. He deserves to have a permanent and significant memorial in some way.

I like this idea a lot. The player who played the hardest in the Spring game gets the Warrior Jack award. Maybe a plaque or a trophy in the trophy case with Jacks name engraved up top and the winner each spring getting added on.
