Will graduate on 20 December and will have to make a decision of going on a full scholarship on the first day of Fall Camp 2020 with Nebraska or accepting immediate full ride scholarships from several other schools. His hope is to enter school in January 2020 as early enrollee

 




Is the idea he picks up an attrited schollie and he doesn’t sign an LOI, thus avoids counting against the max number?

Glad to see Scott give the kid a chance. Hopefully he comes to NU and does well.

Basically it means that Gifford would count against the 2021 initial counter numbers instead of the 2020 numbers. A blue shirt can’t be officially recruited either. Meaning they can’t take an official visit or have an in-home visit with the head coach. Luckily Gifford is from Lincoln.

edit* it also means he couldn’t start practicing with the team until fall camp begins.

The exact type young man that makes a program better.

1. He wants to be here.
2. He'll outwork anybody.
3. The AFA wants him - character, leadership and integrity much?
4. His Coach says he's basically one of a kind in certain immeasurables.
5. His brother is UN and NFL pedigree so there is potential unknown upside.
6. He's not slow - 6' 1" at 195 runs a 4.43 40.

You find a way to find him a place.

He's not a four star or five star.

He's a gold star.
