Is our 2026 offense built to take advantage of a 21 personnel set?

We have the firepower in the skill positions. If Wade can get the O-line into shape, we could have an awesome offense.

For the first time in about a decade I think we have substance behind preseason hype and hope for offensive line improvement. Geep has produced consistently in the past and he has material to work with to field a solid two deep roster.

I think it comes down to Geep getting more consistency out of the guys, and/or improving technique which brings about a more cohesive unit which makes a better overall line.
Say coming off a block where the DT is walking you away from your required position allowing more space in a seam for a blitzer.
I keep hearing our projected starters, their past work, leans more to favoring pass pro than run blocking, which if true, Geep has some work to do.

I hope so, but we said that about Carter and before him Fidone.
I love the interview with Fidone at the end of his freshman season. He talked about his very first play as a Husker against Michigan State (I think). He said he was in to block for that play and he was lined up against a very big Michigan State defensive end. That MSU defensive end pushed Fidone on his ass. Fidone said it was at that moment he realized he wasn't ready for D1 ball and that he needed to devote more time to the weight room. I think this is true for about 98% of freshmen at the D1 level.

Which is why IMO counting on Sorensen is fools gold. I hope he surprises.

21 should get a defense to declare:

Stay in nickel or dime, your box is light and vulnerable to the run game.

Base, 3 linebackers and that opens pass game more.

Also, when teams have to check into defensive sets u like, most teams don't have as many blitz and exotic looks.

More teams nowadays are playing smaller and faster, why NFL teams are starting to go bigger and more TEs.

Yes

In the end everything is cyclical. Defenses and Offenses will continue to play cat/mouse games to try to gain the upper hand with personnel and/or scheme.

100% agree. The difference …… coaching. Geep hasn’t proven anything yet but I am more optimistic about this line than I have … heck in the past 20 years. We have a few games to gel
