Well... If they let fans stand out on the field for football games, the record FB attendance would be around 150,000 (and, there would be a bunch of fan injuries...). But seating + SRO is limited to ~ 86,000 for football games.

Also, VB Day in Nebraska was not just a "once in a lifetime" event -- it literally happened only once IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD! Whereas folks can see our has-been FB program 7 or 8 times a year at home.

OTOH, it's all kinda the same story. Husker fans show up! We have sellout streaks in FB, VB, basketball. We've broken attendance records in wrestling. People worldwide marvelled at our 92,003 attendance record and exclaimed, "Look at their support for women's sports!" But I didn't necessarily see it as that -- we showed up because we're Huskers! We support our Huskers!

At least you get what you paid for, right? ;) Hi! I am back. Been off for a long time. So much has been going on in my life, I just did not have the energy and desire to get on. Missed you all. I did watch our teams, though, while I was "gone". I am back!
Going to karaoke tonight. Have been getting back in the life stream again. Again, great to be back!

Thirty years ago, our football team was still winning national championships. Football was still king back then. Even during the Solich and early Pelini years football was still somewhat relevant.

The end of Pelini's tenure was a disaster though. Our football program hasn't been relevant on the national stage since then. I would argue we stopped being a football school in 2015, when we hired Mike Riley and the football program went into the toilet.

So many factors, but let's not forget a certain AD, who shall not be mentioned, who started that whole mess!
