Is Fidone going pro?

Holgerson said in an interview with the media that Fidone has been practicing with a sense of urgency. No word on whether he will be going pro that I've heard. Maybe the added practices with DH's offense in bowl prep will help him break through.

I haven't seen anything other than a few days back I saw a report, IIRC - Sam McKewon OWH - that Boerkircher was getting a lot of interest out of the SEC. That is a pretty broad statement. I mean it ranges from Vanderbilt and Kentucky to 'Bama. But overall, it is a very strong conference.

What are the odds we will find an upgrade over Boerkircher out of the portal? History would say we might be worse. I have to think Carter Nelson is a two years from being as physical. So that leaves us with Lindenmeyer.

Admittedly, Boerkircher has only one more year, as does Fidone if he returns.
I believe we have a backend loaded TE room with freshman and redshirt freshman. Not sure how good they are. We gave them scholarships for a reason.

One more year of playing college football probably wasn’t going to improve his skills a lot, but Nebraska sure could have used him one more year.
Maybe but might of gotten him some guaranteed $$ instead of free agent/practice squad $$ by being a higher pick who might if stuck for a year or so. But who knows.

Well it looks like this was not just a rumor was it ;)
Wheter he stays in the draft or pulls out and goes into the portal only time will tell

Career done in by Callahan's WCO led by Joe Dailey. IIRC, his injury came on one of those stupid plays that just seemed to bunch everyone in the middle of the field in a Rugby Scrum. Run enough of those plays and many people will get injured. It ruined Herian's career. Then you had all the dink and dunk short passes where the TE had to fight tooth and nail to just get five yards.

Herian was lethal out of the option on play action downfield. He was so wide open and he could cover all the territory he needed to catch Jamal Lord passes.

True Freshman 7 catches for an average of 43 yards per catch. Sophomore season 22 catches for 22 yards per catch... His ypc dropped to ~13 before he was injured in his Junior year.
