QB Cade McNamera isn't on Iowa's depth chart for this week's game against Wisconsin. They plan to play both NW transfer Brendan Sullivan and redshirt freshman Marco Lainz. No word on when/if McNamera will return to play.

From what I have seen, Iowa is better with Sullivan than with McNamara.

Yep. Sullivan's efficient passing AND rushing yards .....

BTW, NW Ryan Hillinski still around ?? (NU vs. NW Dublin Ireland)

McNamara is probably "hurt' the he was replaced after throwing the pick 6, NW only 1st half score.

Sullivan clearly did a better job of running team and protecting football which is what Iowa needs from their QB.

It was a ST TD (punt return) that broke the game open: classic Iowa.

Suspect McNamara is gone, and based on his play, no great loss for Iowa.

Sullivan can be erratic for a Iowa QB at times. It makes making them one dimensional a lot harder with him, while improving their run game at the same time.

Helsinki's NW's #3 QB behind starter Jack Lausch and backup grad transfer Mike Wright. Wright transferred to NW after three years at Vandy and a year at Mississippi State.

At least agains NW, McNamara was making them one dimensional, and his passing was not much to write home about.

Sullivan looked serviceable as a short to intermediate range passer.

So once again sounds like a team's coaching staff wasn’t playing their best QB? OK......

It's not KF's way, period. He believes he can roll out powerful throwing qbs that stay in the pocket. Every year. It wasnt until McNamara got hurt until he was replaced.

So I’d say my point is accurate? According to some posters the Iowa coaching staff wasn’t playing their best QB this season? Seems strange wouldn’t want to play the QB that gives them the best chance to win. Just saying......

The best QB at what? It sounds like he was the best QB to play the style they are WANTING to play, but they may not be complete enough as a team to do yet. If you are transitioning to a different style of offense, you don't hold off until you have every nuance perfected and the roster fitting every possible need. The first year or two is usually a little rocky.
