As I have mentioned in previous posts I have not been into fishing very much. I have quite a few friends that go fishing at the lake quite a bit, everyday. . Crappie seems to be the fish they are trying to catch. They have Bass tournaments there all the time. This year I will try to change that. I have always been a catch and release type of fisherman. On another note, I'm an excellent master Baiter.
Right now is the best time of the year to catch large crappies. They should be moving into the shallow, especially under wooden boat docks, near fallen timber, etc. A small crappie jig and/or a small shiner minnow should be money.
That’s the case on my lake.
If I don’t have to work and can talk the Mrs into a trip on a windy and cool lake, we’ve limited out. Her low temperature threshold is about twenty degrees higher than mine though.
Fishing from shore or boat?
Still have ice on the lakes up here, no docks until it is gone.
From boat. Went back today and did much better. Cold, rain, and snow going to ruin things for awhile though.
bass and pike fishing in okoboji lakes in june, i have a guide, since i live out of state and cant bring a boat. the dude has always put me and my son on fish, and some pretty good ones too.
I hear that fish in Iowa have the Corona Virus.
