Indiana v. NU, Game #1, 3/27

Middle relief was shaky, but Unger pitched beautifully. Those three batters that Unger faced in the 9th were Indiana’s best.

Ty Horn continues to impress!

It was one of those nights where we were hitting the crap out of the ball….

Right to the enemy…

I’ll have to check, but I don’t think we had many strikeouts at all….always making contact.

If this team has a weakness, it’s the inconsistency of our relief.

But they don’t panic…. And they just keep smacking the ball.

We won tonight, but we did it the hard way.

But this also shows we can win those one run, tight ball games.

I just wish we’d stop giving up a 5 run lead.

Thanks, Caroll, I should’ve checked to see if anybody was doing the game.

I was listening to the radio broadcast and puttering around doing some things.

I should’ve come…. Sorry for not paying attention..

I'm gonna attribute a lot of the sloppy play to cold temps, seems that's the way the first game of the MSU series went and similar to last Sunday versus UM. Good news is that we seem to clean it up immediately in the next games or even in-game. It's a mature team, so there appears to be, among them, some player leadership in the locker room and poise on the field. No such thing as certainty in baseball and not one to overlook ANY opponent, but there is a part of the B10 schedule this year we need to fatten up on to stay in contention for the league title and a regional hosting opportunity. Can't be giving up freebies of any sort.

Looking forward to our ranks here swelling now that the magical basketball season has ended (bummer!) and the win totals climb.

GBR!

I looked at the schedule from here on out….

Doable.

Tough series at Oregon.

But we get another tough series with USC at home.

Right now, it appears the cream of the Confernce is UCLA, USC, Oregon and Nebraska.

But it’s baseball and anything goes….a team gets hot and look out.

In the end though…Baseball teams that are successful don't look ahead.

One game at a time, win the series and move on.

Let’s win that series today!
