I’ll Focus On the Positives

Good points. Before the season, everyone said there was no way we would beat USC or Ohio State and we actually had a chance in those games. And after the UCLA game many on this board thought we weren’t going bowling. Winning vs. Iowa was out of the question. Now the fact that we got so close and it was obvious that those games were a winnable, frustrated everyone, including me but I actually think there is some positive stuff to build on moving forward.

Did you read this before you posted it? We lost all of those games. We did exactly what we always do. We get to the point where Lucy at least holds the ball for us, but she ALWAYS pulls it away. We are the Charlie Brown of college football. Good grief!

I think we should keep fresh the raw anger from the outrage that was the team's half-hearted sleep-walking effort against UCLA.

We don't have the kinds of coaches for whom players would run through a wall, or even give their best effort for every game.

Inexcusable, and not a good sign for this staff's future.

The danger in your statement is that “we’re close”. We really aren’t. Close games and playing solid disciplined football—consistently—is not the same. We have played close games for a DECADE.

When this program can string together good, solid games we are close. Yes, we have made some progress but we are not close.
