As of Dec. 1, 2025, if the school fires Rhule without cause, he would be set to receive $49,612,500. Yes a heck of a lot of money! I wonder what it will cost Nebraska should the team go completely back to their losing ways? I don’t claim to know Nebraska’s financial situation as to firing Rhule and moving on? Haven’t researched if it would cost another 20 to 30 million to fire the current coaching staff but that seems high to me. Bottom line we’ll just have to watch what happens after next season.....

Apples and oranges. Of course we can expect to compete with Minnesota and every other team in the B1G. But that is a different question than whether we have the players ready and capable of doing so. Some say we do have all the talent we need and we just need to keep firing coaches to see the fruits of that talent. But people have said that so many times and we have tried it so many times, it does make one question that rationale.

Aw shucks. You’re making me blush. But there is no way I could be a coach at that level. I, unlike some folks, know my limitations. However, I do have a healthy respect for those who take on that challenge and then receive criticism from people who underestimate or simply can’t comprehend the magnitude of the task. I don’t know if MR will ultimately have the formula for taking Nebraska to the heights that fans want, but I do believe one has to look at the entire picture when evaluating his efforts. That includes evaluating players as well as coaches. I feel the players, including age and injuries, actually do play a significant role in the failure or success of a program.

Everything in Nebraska athletics has improved or continued to excel under him to INCLUDE Nebraska football. We have the best coach we have had in almost 15 years and he gave him an extension that you don’t agree with. You don’t even know if it’s a bad decision yet but as usual, you represent your opinion as being a fact. And you got nothing but zero results of any of your opinions working out as factual.
