The PSU win did some good. At least they didn't drop after the loss to the Buckeyes.

5 B1G teams still in the Top 25.

Two schools mentioned on only one ballot for a total of two combined points.

...behind Penn State...with 42 fewer points and no first place votes.

I don't want to be irrational, but I was hoping for better.

Me as well. Could have been ugly though had it been back to back losses. I'm still jacked about that win against PSU on Sunday. Heckuva match.

1st place doesn't mean that much right now. NU needs to stay about where they're at to get a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney. With wins over UCLA and PSU, who were both #1 at the time, will boost the tourney resume.

Agreed. A #1 seed going into the tournament would be great at this stage of the game.

That loss to Ohio St. prevented us from moving up any, without it we definitely would've have passed Penn St. for 3rd and might have even got into the Top 2. More concerning is that it might have cost us a share of the Big Ten title, as we now have to win out and hope Penn St. losses again.

100% true, WMF.

I agree with those who are arguing that a #1 seed is the ultimate goal here (in terms of resume, at least), but not all #1 seeds are created equal. Nebraska has gotten jobbed the last few tournaments and needs to be put in a fair regional and, oh yeah, that should be the Omaha regional.

The Penn St win was great! The only way we would have moved up and gotten a 1st-place vote would be to defeat Penn St at their place. Yes, after losing at home to OSU, we saved face and our 4th place spot, defeating Penn St. The poll is fair. :)

I agree, it is fair to put them in Omaha. You know, like Duke always plays at home, in the NCAA regionals!!

Does Penn St go to Ohio State......................or Iowa State??? ;) Better yet, how about to UCLA? We have lost to 3 good teams, period! No face to save here. Hey, let's just win regional and go onto a chamionship, ok? :)
