From reading reports and what I have heard a bit of disaray at Tennessee...and LaDarrell who loved his visit to Nebraska could be considering us as his choice....he visited Nebraska on 9 December...has never visited Tennessee....

He is very interested in Nebraska so we have a shot.....

Rated a 4-star safety by all of the recruiting services....he is from Dallas....so a connection with Coach Beck who is recruiting him....along with Coach raymond (perhaps our best recruiter in 2011).....

With Diggs no longer considering Nebraska this would be a great pickup in place of him.....

OWH now has an interview with him up....sounds like Tennessee has not been talking to the kids....some highlights:

“Now that I know about Coach Wilcox leaving, the first thing I need to do is talk with Coach (Derek) Dooley,” McNeil said. “Coach (Terry) Joseph, my recruiter, is another guy I need to talk to because I want to find out what I’m going to be coming into if I stick with Tennessee.”

McNeil said he’s disappointed Wilcox is leaving the Tennessee program, and he wants to be sure that there won’t be any more departures from Dooley’s staff.

In the meantime, McNeil said one school on his radar is Nebraska.

“Nebraska is definitely a school I’m considering,” he said. “I’ve already been there, and I was really impressed with the program they have.”

FWIW, McNeil has taken NU out of the picture.

Which is why I think there has been late activity with Sebastian Smith. With Jordan Diggs likely signing elsewhere, I think it shows this staff wants to bring in a safety in this class and guys like Smith are plan 'B' guys - if you want to call them that. I thought Alonzo Moore could be that guy for them. It seems Mississippi State is making a strong case for him. Personally, I think the bigger bonus for the DB class would be to get another top HS CB prospect like Amos Leggett (who is visiting 1/20) or maybe Brandon Beaver who has been getting a late push from Oklahoma.
