Huskers Lose To Alumni 2-1

The 10[SUP]th[/SUP]-ranked Nebraska volleyball team held its annual Red/White Match on Saturday evening at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in front of a sellout crowd of 8,243 fans. The Nebraska alumni team, led by Olympians Jordan Larson and Nancy Metcalf, took the match 2-1 (25-19, 17-25, 25-22) on the historic night at the Devaney.

There aren't too many college programs that can put together an alumni team as ridiculous as this. To think of all the names in the recent past that didn't play - it's quite a program.

And the alumni team was made up of all native Nebraskans. Considering the population base Nebraska has, that's impressive indeed!

I went to the match last night with the Mrs. The Devaney is pretty awesome for volleyball. They did a very nice job with the building. This years team will be young, but they have talent. I hope Kelsey Robinson's injury is not serious, although it didn't look too good when she was on the floor writhing in pain. I guess it was her non-hitting shoulder that got injured. Other than the injury it was a great night all around.
