The Nebraska baseball team (12-7, 3-0 Big Ten) travels to Minneapolis, Minn., this weekend to resume conference play when the Huskers visit Minnesota (9-13, 3-0 Big Ten) for a three-game series at Siebert Field. This weekend’s games are set for Friday (4 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).

Nebraska and Minnesota are two of three teams with perfect 3-0 records in conference play this season, along with Indiana. The Gophers swept Penn State last weekend to set up the pivotal showdown with the Big Red this weekend.

These two starters are a combined 3-0, 58.0 IPs, 66 Ks, and 7 BBs. Could be a 2-1 game that is done in 90 minutes. Ok, maybe not that fast. Key for Nebraska is to stretch Meyer out and stay within one run thru the first 5. Take pitches and run his pitch count up as he was a closer last year and started out that way this year. As we saw with Alvarado last year and Luensmann this year, they lose velocity the deeper they go many times. Keep it within a run and we can get this thing.

Matt Waldron
29.0 IPs, 32 Ks, 2 BBs

Max Meyer
29.0 IPs, 34 Ks, 5 BBs

Roskam in the starting lineup against the righty and back in his home state. Addante getting a start at DH. Not sure i'm in love with this lineup, but runs were going to be hard to come by anyway so I think they went a bit defensive.
