Located on the northeast corner of 8th & "N" streets, on the west deck and inside the loading dock of the former Western Supply Company Building at 820 "N" Street.
Tailgate will be open by 10AM. Main dish this week is wings.
The Husker Softball ladies will be in attendance at the tailgates on this corner this week!
HuskerMax members and lurkers welcomed alike, BBS subscription not required, no one checks your identity! Food and drinks (non-alcoholic and otherwise) provided, or you can bring your own to contribute to the event.
There are expenses involved in renting the space, and with food and drink costs, so please plan on helping cover those with a donation when you arrive. The tip jar also has a Venmo link. Your contribution towards keeping these going is appreciated.
Don't worry too much about not knowing anyone in person. Feels like most any watch site, there are a few regulars at most games, but a lot of faces are new every week. Check the photos and video below for a sense of the vibe before you show up. It's a place that you know that you can drop in and still be around your Nebraska family, and strike up a Husker conversation with pretty much anyone there. Or if you'd rather just quietly enjoy a drink while watching one of the games on the TVs and not have to engage with anyone else, that's fine too. Come on in, make yourself at home, no one will question you about it.
There are always multiple tailgates going on in this lot, with footballs to toss around, cornhole games, and other fun things. There are a couple of TVs inside the dock, showing other games being played. Chairs available both on the deck as well as inside under cover. The tailgate will remain open through the duration of the game, if you don’t have tickets but still want to hang out.
So far this year we have had former Husker athletes Terrell Farley and Riley Silva drop in, as well as Joel Green (Robber's Cave expert historian and tour guide). The Husker Softball team will be around this week, too.
Recommend patrolling for parking in the vicinity of 7th and 8th Streets between "J" and "L" streets. Expect to pay around $25 to park. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium from the tailgate, and that walk can go straight through the Haymarket.
If there is anyone that would like to help with the tailgate, it would be appreciated, message @Huskerarm or Ron (rlfre@hotmail.com).
Hope to see you there!
