Doing some cleanup around the property and this guy came out from under a piece of block I was moving. It was very blue when it first came out but changed colors to this by the time I got the pic.

You're kidding...you found that on your property...in Nevada???

That looks like an emperor scorpion. It is non-native. Not dangerous at all, and actually fairly docile. It's venom is considerably weaker than that of the smaller bark scorpion or desert hairy scorpion. They are very popular in the exotic pet trade. An adult emperor scorpion could sell for a couple hundred dollars

No, I’m in Thailand right now. I didn’t know anything about them until later. Too bad my SiL squished or I would have smuggled it back for you.
This is the kind it was

Oh...that makes sense.

That is what's commonly known as Asian Forest Scorpion. They are difficult to distinguish from the Emperor Scorpions, you have to look closely at the pinchers.

LOL. No thanks.
While the AFS are also popular with hobbyists since they are almost as large as the ES, they are more aggressive than the ES. AFS are less expensive than ES, because ES are harder to get since the import restrictions are more strict due to their popularity among hobbyists was causing them to be "overharvested"

Had a fire fighter conference last week at the training grounds, 3 day thing.
Had over 200 fireman and women do interior fire fighting, search and rescue, different senerios.
I run the trucks, help guide people through.

Im really glad to see these young people step up wanting to get in the fire service.

Just posting random pictures.
Nothing up close.
