Updated Rivals rankings has Nebraska down to #8.
I couldn't really care any less where Nebraska ends up in the final rankings. It's all subjective and depends on the number of recruits you take, among other things, so schools like Clemson (currently ranked 5th) who have 23 kids will always be ahead of other schools who have less (unless you mix a 5 star or two in). What I think matters is the average stars.
To think where Nebraska was just 3 years ago and to see them today. WOW.
Ave Stars:
Nebraska 3.50
Ohio State (#9) 3.39
LSU (#6) 3.53
USC (#7) 3.47
Florida (#10) 3.47
Georgia (#15) 3.44
All of those teams have either played for, or been in the serious national championship picture late in the season over the past 5 years. Sure, OU, Texas and Alabama's ave. stars are still a bit above Nebraska's....but a ton of progress has been made.
In the 2008 Class, Rivals ranked Nebraska #30 with an ave. star rating of 2.96. The teams I listed above:
Ohio State (#4) 3.85
LSU (#11) 3.58
USC (#8) 3.89
Florida (#3) 3.82
Georgia (#7) 3.67
