How important is Boston College?

I’d hope, very important. It’s yet another game NU needs to win. Don’t want an 8th straight losing season. 7 is poor enough. Just this one reason alone, getting that winning season, could maybe remove some of the demons so heavily attached. There are other reasons this game is important, but not having another losing season sits alone for me. What’s your thoughts?

It’s already the worst, or second worst stretch in program history. 1940’s were terrible. Time to stop the losing. I just think it would leave a dark cloud until August. Need to keep some good momentum.

Very important. If we lose, there's almost no chance we finish in the top 25.

Nebraska is not finishing in the top 25.

This game is very important for the program. Another losing season will stew in the psyche of the team during the offseason and we don’t need them thinking that they are losers once again. Winning begets winning and losing begets losing. Boston College will make us earn the win, and earn it we must do.

I hope we win but we will have a lot of new players next year—so this game won’t matter that much in the minds of the 2025 team.

Almost? No, IMPOSSIBLE. Even win, 50-50 chance to finish a few Coaches poll votes (not top 25)
I think it would have to be a massive, dominating, blowout by Nebraska for us to receive any "Others Receiving Votes". A 7-6 team would rarely be considered by voters. I'm not saying it isn't impossible for Nebraska to have that kind of success in the bowl this year, but I'm not planning on it though (but it would be fun, wouldn't it). :)

From my perspective it's no more important than all of the other "turn the corner, change the narrative" games that Rhule's NU has mismanaged and pissed down their leg.

I expect to see what we usually see in these situations: We'll either be out-coached- or out-disciplined in a game we should otherwise win.

From a sheer statistical stance, we would we expect any other result?

Yes, the Kool-Aid has soured for me.

Pretty important and N had better be ready to play! BC is known for its upsets! We don’t need a “hail Mary” ending!!! GBR

Not arguing your post or trying to purposely berate you so don’t take this personally. I was a little surprised this came from you based on your posting history. I think it’s understandable though.

The importance of a win versus a loss is less people souring on the koolaid in the manner this post did. And this includes the players. A win and players and fans see the light. A loss and it’s still a heavy fog.
