How good are these Huskers?

At this point we have an RPI of 122. That seems about right. After next weekend, there is a good chance we’ll be 500 in conference with 2 weeks to go. Anything is possible, but we’re likely in the range of a 5-9 seed in an 8 team conf tournament. I’m hugely disappointed.

IIf we miss the tournament two years in a row in this conference, that is utter failure. Especially with nothing to point to as a building year.

How bad is the BIG is the question.

We are struggling and are still tied for 3rd in this league and only 2 games out of first.

This program is the one hurt the most by the move to this conference.

Unless they go on a serious winning streak there will be no post season again.

They must win that series coming up at Maryland to have any chance. Purdue and PSU are very much like us and beatable. To make a move they need to go maybe 7-2 in these 9 final conference games

It isn't nearly as bad as most of our casual fans think. It was in 2013 when we joined it. Since then (primarily due to the huge money going to all the member institutions), there has been a big upgrade in facilities and coaches. This will continue. It certainly isn't at the top, but it's better and deeper than people realize.

Maybe so.

Perhaps I am basing too much on the fact that we are 3rd in the conference and can't beat Omaha or S. Dakota St. Based on head to head results we would be 3rd in the State as well.

Isn't there a huge disparity (not in the B1G's favor) in how scholarships are honored in the B1G as opposed to other conferences?

I don't know. Heard that somewhere a couple years back I think?

Ive done digging previously and I 100% disagree. Historically, this conference has been horrible! That is a fact, it only takes some digging to find reality.

If

If we are to have any hope of making the tourney (other than winning the BIG tourney) we have to win every series left and sweep purdue and minnesota and not lose any mid week games.

Hard ask, but possible

:Whiteflag:Not!

The program has fallen to the Tony Sharpe days level when we had a field with a snow fence up in the outfield.

Good lord, it seems like recruiting goes ok but we see nothing on the field that resembles where we were even under Erstad, let alone Van Horne.

There needs to be a strong finish to this season but that seems like asking for a miracle at this point.

@Husker In Oklahoma

Give it a rest my friend…

You seem happy the kid’s are in a slump.

Honestly….OK to question and disagree but not OK to gloat over the team having problems. Suggest things that could be done differently, discuss solutions. You know, that little thing called mannerly discourse is great….why we are here.

Your latest post in this thread does none of that.

This is a FAN site.

I am a Husker Fan….

Really starting to question your motivation and if you are a true Husker fan.

Everyone can see that the boys are having real problems right now. Why gloat on it? To prove a point? That you are so much smarter?

Not impressed…at all. And I no longer care for your “discourse”….

Blocked

And you are totally welcome to do the same to me.
I blocked him a long time ago.
You can guess why. Nothing personal.
Not our problem.

Damn, 100%. You’ve got it all figured out.

Sorry you haven't.

This really says it all!

29 — Big Ten

It’s quite the drop to the conference that has made the fifth-most appearances in CWS history, but Michigan's return to Omaha in 2019 makes it a tad bit closer. Out of those 29 appearances, however, the Big Ten has won just six national titles with Minnesota (three) and Michigan (two) leading the way, which is tied for the third-most all-time using actual conference membership per season. Nine Big Ten teams have combined for 55 wins all-time in Omaha.

The Big 10 has had a total of 2 teams in the CWS in the last 25 years.. 2013 Indiana, and 2019 Michigan.

Now do a drill down on regionals and super regionals. Any trends?
Yeah, there is, and a couple odd years doesn’t a trend make! How many do you think make a regional this year? Care to put yourself out there.? I mean you are the one that just said the average fan doesn’t know what they are talking about.
