Well, NU played pretty crappy and gave the game away. Rutgers isn't a bad team, but NU should have won. Defense was very suspect.

That makes 3 in as row.. not looking good for NU at this moment. Just when we start thinking we have ourselves something, reality hits.

They can most certainly get this turned around, but I am taking a show me attitude. I won't believe it until I see it happening, otherwise, this is shaping up to be another let down. Fred has taken NU to another level, compared to previous coaches, but can't seem to get them over the hump, to the next level.. so far, anyway.. that could change.

Last year NU ended up 23-11, which isn't bad, but they still couldn't get that first tourney win. I fear we see that again this year.

I didnt think we played too bad last night. I think we are starting to look a lot like NU football under SF. We play decent but there will be a ton of games that are going to come down to the wire and we dont know how to win close games. How to take over games in the final minutes and win. I dont think we have all year. Every win has been not close. But Rutgers, ST marys and Iowa.........all games there for us and we poop down our leg.

Fred has historically improved situations like this. And many of our NCAA tourny teams of the past have gone thru rough patches and then come on strong. So this season is not over.

But we have issues offensively. We cant just come out defensively and shut Big 10 teams down and win games. Theres too much talent in the Big 10. We have to find a better offensive plan going forward and either Fred finds out how to do that and tweeks things and we make a run here. Or, this season is going to wind up as a team that had potential but couldnt find it.

I wanna believe in this team, but 2... 30 point losses appear now to be reality not just a one time thing.

This team has to get better

Bad loss at home. I would expect DONU to be on the wrong side of Bracketology at the next update. Road loss to Maryland is high probability.

That was a really bad loss. Hurts them in many ways for the post-season. Long way to go, but you simply can't lose games like that at home.

Its now pretty simple.
If we want to achieve our goals, HCFH has to make this team better in a hurry. The team we saw this week will be NIT bound otherwise.
The good news is theres enough talent to do it, but its up to FH to figure how we get from where we are today as a team, to playing a certain amount better over the next 6 weeks

They played like a 100 ranked team. It seems like Coach Fred is losing the team a bit. Lack of fire on the defensive side of the ball.

Teams have figured out how to beat the baseline trap strategy.

The players rarely throw the ball to Meah. Even when he is wide open.

Yeah, it wasn’t good. Not sure how to explain how they could play so good early on, then play like that yesterday.. confusing! I have a good idea as to why, but it won’t be popular!

I would love to hear your opinion.

I’m watching the Creighton UConn game right now and it’s amazing we beat Creighton like we did earlier in the year and now they’re playing as well as anybody in the Big East.

My son got us tickets to the Oregon game in Eugene next month. When he bought them the Huskers were playing great. Now I’m thinking this could be another 30+ point blowout on the road. I hope they surprise me.

Well, I have always said, teams that are hot and cold are like that because of coaching. Not necessarily from Fred, but probably more from his assistants.
