High 3* RB Ashton Hayes out of NV is N

Ok for some reason I was thinking he was a two star
If I recall, Yant shared carries with 2 other backs, one who was more touted, each git close to the same yardage but there was no fall off imo between him and his higher rated team mate.

Edit, he shared carries, but his teammates werent highly coveted

I see Ashton Hayes as a slot receiver or possibly moving to safety. But with his wheels, they might want to keep him on offense.

A rare three star who walked on initially before earning a scholarship. I think he was an eligibility risk coming out of high school, which hurt his recruitment.
A low 3* with one service but no stars by any others. Thus he had a 247 profile but no 247 Composite.

He wasn’t lightly because of grades. He was just lower rated. Almost no one wanted him, even as a walk-on. Yant’s official Husker bio used to say he chose NU over a walk-on offer over one from S. Miss. It has been changed in the last six weeks.

Regardless, 247 had him as the 122nd back in the class. So good for Held and Fisher (alum of same high school) for seeing something in him.

Services aren’t great at running back predictions past the top tier. The 121st rated back in Yant’s class has rushed for 343 yds and 5.4 ypc for UAB. The 120th rated back averages 6.8 ypc and has 3 td for Arkansas. The 160th rated back has 3 td for Rutgers. The 233rd ranked guy in that class is leading rusher this year for UConn and he has more yards than any NU rb this year.

Hayes is the 47th ranked rb in the country. Lots of guys in that 25-100 range end up being strong contributors or even pros. If NU gets a guy in that range every year the rb room should be fine.
