What is everyone true expectations for the season

I see NU possibly going 5-7 ..... yeah beat the crap out of me . Would not be the first time in 20 years

If its gonna be better then tell me why.

I for one have lst faith in the program Every year so much hype that never shows on the field

Rhule already saying the 2026 team is the best he has seen


What the hell gives you hope other than....Its nebraska

Maybe you go first? Why is it going to be 5-7 and don't say "because they have been bad in the past" or "because they have a bad coach". I love how people who are optimistic have to prove it in some manner, while the pessimistic crowd simply say "we haven't been good in a long time" or "we weren't good last year".

Here's a wild concept.....last year's record doesn't carry over....and the last 30 years sure as heck don't carry over. No more than the 90's carry over to guarantee success.

A big part of this board is like a beauty contest for who can look more jaded and pessimistic. I think before Fall practice even starts is a great time to spout off uninformed predictions. I’ll bite.

I really like the new assistant coaches. I got the sense the transfer guys they targeted on both lines were intended to fill more specific roles. But especially at O line, I think we’ll take a noticeable step forward. I expect the offensive line to perform a lot better.

I don’t think Dana Holgerson forgot how to coach. I think the offense will match the personnel better, and we’ll see his fingerprints on good game plans. I expect opposing teams will have headaches figuring out how to shut down this offense.

I like the mentality of our transfer QB, but I’m not as sure about his toolset. What little we’ve heard from the the players gives me the impression they aren’t nearly as defeatist as their supporters. That’s good. They’ve got no chance to defy expectations if they don’t think they can. I won’t be the guy who tries to smother that youthful optimism. I hope they go into camp expecting to work hard with a goal to win the conference, make the playoff. Any team that ever exceeded expectations had good team leadership and a mental toughness I think Colandrea may be able to inject.

I think a few teams in the Big 10 are going to have their own challenges, and we’ll have an opportunity to take advantage. For example, Indiana’s success had a LOT to do with a superstar QB who left. What did they replace him with? How will they manage with the bullseye when there are some disappointing results?

I’m really looking forward to the trickle of news we get out of Fall Camp day by day. I’m looking forward to watching the games. I want this season’s team to lay a better foundation for the higher level of talent they’re recruiting. I’m taking the over on the W/L projections.

Michigan State and Illini will likely be tossups. Never know about Iowa - it'll depend on how each team has developed and potential injuries at the end of the season. Of course we could always (finally) get a big upset somewhere along the way too. I think our ceiling is 8 wins, the floor is 4.
