Harrison Beck (Front page article)

“I think people love authenticity, and I think people kind of live vicariously through that,” Beck said.

Tru dat. It may be my Ozark Hillbilly roots or the fact that he failed miserably twice but I find his version of blowhard humorous. Every small town in America has a Harrison Beck living large on the past.

Is he funny, like a clown?

But seriously, he is just a red-neck idiot boy that has a strong arm. I am not laughing with him because he is funny. I am laughing at him because he can't help but show everyone he is an idiot.
He is so full of himself. He is a cheeseburger away from #350

Before slipping into D2 oblivion, he went 120-250 passing in two seasons at NC State. (Yes, after "firing" Nebraska, he astutely chose to transfer to a program that had Russell Wilson at QB.)

How bad was he?

Besides an under-50% completion rate, he threw 17 INTs to only 4 TDs, for a 4.25:1 INT-to TD-pass ratio, which might be a record. Put another way, about 13% of his passes caught were caught by the other team. I remember watching him on TV in a blowout loss to Boston College in which he threw 5 picks.

Plus he was quite the teammate. From a NC St. message board after a bowl game loss in which he went 0-4 passing with an INT in relief of an injured Wilson: " … the team wanted to kick Harrison Beck’s ass because Beck literally smiled and was laughing after throwing his interception." He was shown the door to North Alabama shortly afterward.

“My arm doesn’t need you; you need my arm."

Sounds like a locker room cancer. The saying should be “ There is no ‘Harrison Beck’ in ‘team.’” Everyone has potential. Few have the opportunity to show it. Harrison had 2 shots at the big time and failed miserably. His potential didn’t count for squat. I think he is telling us he could have been great, maybe the greatest ever, if he had not played so poorly.

Delusional, a very over infllated opinion of himself, and his abilities. He really doesnt deserve a thread on Huskermax, hes not worthy of the effort.

Im not hating on him, just saying, he never really did anything here

He hasn't done anything anywhere.

“Potential” is always a detriment until proven otherwise, on the field. Ego always infects “potential” like an incurable cancer. “Potential” is what one sees in the rear view mirror. Beck will always be looking back into his life long rear view mirror. Sad for him.

I'm not sure I've ever read anything like that article... HB is completely out of touch with reality. Glad he left.

I’m with you. That was the sole reason I posted this from the front page. Perhaps I just tucked it away deep in my brain, but I didn’t recall how arrogant etc he really was. And with the way the Callahan era was unfolding I bet adding HB to the fold was pure joy......
