Marriage is 50/50.. there was never a point in which my wife and I decided to pool our money, we did it automatically the minute we got married.. just like the good Lord said.. we are one!

Well, same here at the start, but right now things are changing. Father-in-law passed away a couple years ago and he had a pretty big estate. It hasn't closed yet, but she has gotten decent money to this point, more will be coming. I told her, this is different, I don't have any claim to what you inherited, that was your fathers, he built that.. I came later. Anyway, she still put it in the bank with both our names attached.

I have seen him many times over the years on my flights from Omaha-PHX. Dude plays a LOT of golf down here. I can’t remember if he has a place in AZ or not but I think he has already sold both his homes in Omaha.
You would be surprised at how many married couples do keep separate finances. It never really crossed my mind to do it that way.
When my daughter and her husband got married he wanted to keep it that way and about 5-6 months in it went into the same pot.
His parents had separate accounts for personal and their rental properties and he was thinking like that.
My wife stands to inherit a substantial amount when her parents die. First of all she doesn’t really want it, because her parents have always been all about money. We have plenty of money. She would just a soon give it to her children.
It’s kinda crazy how badly he failed at ISU, but then did so great at Creighton. Definitely found his level. I forgot that he coached at Wayne State.
