Retired as Creighton coach. Ive been a fan of his since he was at UNI. He and his son transformed Creighton into a team worthy of joining a major conference.

Creighton coach Greg McDermott is retiring after this season, the school announced. His retirement will end a gilded run at Creighton, as he won 365 games in 16 years there.

It’s hard to believe he’s been at Wayne State, UNI, iSU and CU.

His coaching tree is pretty impressive as well.

Greg McDermott is a really good coach and will be sorely missed. Class act all the way. Hopefully, Alan Huss can keep the good times rolling in Omaha. Having both CU and NU in major conferences and winning at a high level is good for in-state basketball.

I'm thinking not. Good opportunity for Huss to hit the ground running against good competition in a no lose situation. The Crown did the Huskers a world of good last year, maybe it will jump start the Jays going into next year.

Not surprising but he is a great coach. He will be missed. Lots of rumors in NYC at the Big East tourney. I just hope he doesn’t take the ASU job.

Coach Huss was 56-15 at High Point. He'll be Creighton's third coach in the past 32 years. Prior to McDermott, Dana Altman coached the Jays from 1994-2010.
