I think one thing that people should certainly take from that is this... "option teams will get their yards".... this is a concept people never seem to grasp... assignment football means you do what you are asked to do and not try to be a hero... limit the gains to 3,4 & 5 yards.... sure it is nice to make a play in the backfield but 60% of the time it is because a player is gambling... that bites you in the tail eventually...
Let the offense try to grind out 12-14 play drives... the nature of the necessary ball handling says that they will eventually make a mistake and put the ball on the ground if asked to run it so many times... or it will give your DTs a chance to make a big play behind the LOS every so often... a strong but quick DT can really bust up the option. (of course then you run the trap...
