I was wondering the same thing.
Doubtful but not impossible. Kirk’s buyout currently stands at $42mil. The athletic department still owes the university $47 million of the $50 million loan it needed to stay afloat during covid. As bad as many of their fans want a new coach putting them in a $90 mil hole would be a hard sell

It's well past time for Hayden to retire. Iowa's sideline is starting to look like a scene from Weekend at Bernie's.
Our sideline in the late 1990's was the downfall of Frank. All very talented coaches but just couldn't handle the rigorous recruiting schedule.
Chicago - that is really a good comment. I for some reason had not considered that, but you are absolutely right. Coaching ability became just another part of what coaches do - some would argue recruiting is more important. Inability to adjust to the new world killed the Solich team.
