Friday Baseball vs USC

The USC kid threw almost 110 pitches. I was shocked they left him in that long with a five run lead.

Then I saw USC‘s relief and I understood why.

getting the ball in play is just so important

Yup!

Kind of a truism for really any level of baseball.

Hit the ball and good things happen.

Don’t hit the ball…. And they don’t.

Lord, the mason kid for USC has 93 pitches and they’re bringing him back in for the seventh…

I don’t know the history, but with a 7-2 lead that just sounds just stupid…

Now we know why.

People seem to be missing the fact that overall sports wise…

Nebraska is doing really well.

Football is improving…. Albeit slowly.

Baseball has been to the NCAA tournament and has three Big Ten titles three out of the last five years

Track and field is always strong

Wrestling is doing incredibly well.

Basketball had the greatest year in its history.

Women’s basketball had a very good year even with the injuries

Women’s softball will probably make to the college World Series

And then you have women’s volleyball, which is in a league all of its own.

I love our wrestling program.

Mason kid at 105 pitches….

I will be amazed if we don’t see it reliever next inning.

The huskers are very good on eating relief pitching.

Checked in a couple times...was looking dismal. This team always gets busy in final innings but I had little hope yesterday. Hooray for them!!! GBR!

Whelp….I watch a lot of NCAA Div 1 baseball…

And the difference between Pro level defense and college ball is a huge gap.

Stuff like last night happens all the time.

And the pitching.

Very rare is a game that you don’t have about 8 walks …2-3 wild pitches and couple hit batsmen.

I kind of like it myself….

Adds to an “unknown” element you don’t get with Pro ball.
