Quick question for fisherman around Omaha.
i've been to 2 or 3 of the local lakes and the water is not good. The average temp is right at 80 degrees and it looks like a massive algae bloom has happened. The water is a pea soup green with visibility about 6 inches. Am curious if that is normal this time of year around here?

Rivers are always underfished, no matter the species
Use your depth finder to find a thermalcline if there is one. Just fish deeper structure

Back in the day, there used to be catfish that were reported in the 300 pounds class out of our rivers. Thats an old fish in prime waters.
Agree.....my nope was referencing "nope".....not going to find me in that river......ever.
I knew a guy who dove for emergency/recovery. He told me he hated the rivers the most, as he saw shadowy "things" while diving that unnerved him.
