ESPN Bracket Projection

7-22 record to #11 seed (Potentially) in 2nd full season.

Great job!

With the current recruiting rankings looks like Coach Williams and staff have this thing righted quickly after the dumpster fire left behind.

Lots of ball to be played and this will change a bunch; but, this looks like a decent set up for Husker hoops.

DePaul and Missouri would not be slouches on opening weekend in Columbia. But, if we can get through that, it would be off to Spokane for Oregon but at least not on their home court. Notre Dame / Tennessee would likely be waiting in the Elite 8 and now it's a very neutral site. Jess Shepherd against the Huskers for a trip to the final four?

Yes, talk about a conversation that means very little. So many of these seeds will change and teams will come and go. The take home point is, the WBB team has improved dramatically and to be considered at this time is a major accomplishment for the team and staff.

Williams’ team also in hunt
Meanwhile, the Nebraska women’s basketball team has five victories over teams in the Top 50 of the RPI – including three on the road – boasts a perfect 8-0 record in road games, is tied for second place in the Big Ten … and still is the first team out of ESPN women’s bracketologist Charlie Crème’s latest projection.
So second-year coach Amy Williams must likely use the same formula as Miles – win to get it.

Women's basketball: Assessing the Huskers' chances at making the NCAA tournament
The Husker men aren’t the only Nebraska basketball team on the NCAA tournament bubble. The NU women bounce on it, too, and much like the men, they suffered a road loss over the weekend that could put a dent in their tourney hopes......

But the NCAA tournament is within reach. Perhaps more in reach, right at this moment, for the women than the men.

1. Win the last two remaining regular season games; vs Penn State and @ Maryland.

2. Split the last two games And win Two Games in the B1G Tournament.

3. Lose the last two games; Must Win the B1G Tournament outright.

ESPN still has a terrible bracketologist.

He still has the B1G #3 team Nebraska OUT? Two dominating wins over Iowa (6 seed), beat Purdue by 25 (11 seed), lost to Michigan on bad call (8 seed), close loss to Maryland (5 seed), beat Rutgers (11 seed), beat Minn (10 seed). SEVEN big ten teams in the bracket and Huskers are out?

Apparently, this bracketologist does not have the pulse of what the committee will consider.

Unfortunately, ESPN is one of the only sports media outlets that does a decent job of covering women's sports once you get past the U Conn love.
