The USA Today publishes the final ballots of all coaches who vote in the Coaches poll (good for them)

Most coaches had Nebraska anywhere from 16 to 22 or so.

One coach didn't have Nebraska ranked at all in the Top 25!

Gary Andersen from Utah State apparently is the only coach in the country who thinks there are 25 teams better than Nebraska. That list includes Louisiana Tech whom he rated 25th. The only other coach who voted for Louisiana Tech was Louisiana Tech's head coach and he even ranked Nebraska ahead of them at 22.

Maybe we need to be asking Gary Andersen about his voting criteria, and why he feels that three teams on his ballott (La Tech, Arkansas State, and Georgia Tech) that ended up in the "also receiving votes" column of the final poll where more deserving of a team that finished 20th in the overall final poll.

He probably only watched the Northwestern and Michigan games . . . would have been a pretty fair assessment.

Probably had his SID fill out the ballots.

There should be a rule that the COACH themselves have to fill out the damn ballots not pass it off to one of the staff members. If they think it's a waste of their time, their voting rights should be REVOKED.

I am sure that the assistant that filled it out was from Texas. ;)

It's not worth the fight.

We're in bowl season and at this point, the BCS rankings are over and done with. Post-season rankings are just as silly as pre-season ranking, IMO, since they mean absolutely nothing. At this point, all I'm focused on is playing a solid game against an SEC team with a stout defense.

What was our top vote? If a number of people are putting us at 22, it isn't beyond the realm of probability that one would think we are not top 25... what is the outlier on the high side? we know what it is on the down side. Maybe he has an opinion about us and his league. That is his prerogative.

There are worse cases. Baylor (No. 16) wasn't on Jon Embree's ballot, and Georgia (No. 18) wasn't on Bronco Mendenhall's.

Interesting that Nebraska's highest vote came from Steve Spurrier (No. 15).

He's still woozy from the beatdown he got in '96 -- he'll always subconciously rank us higher than anyone else does.

We're in his head.

Im thinking the Utah State coach and Embree's vote omissions are a result of these coaches taking about 30 seconds to fill out their ballot (or yes, just handing it to someone in the AD office). I am guessing that alot of head coaches fill out their top ten, then put their own team where they think they should be, then tell some intern "fill in the rest".

Probably more accurate than some want to admit, and scary to think if any of that is even partially true, because these guys have a hand in deciding who plays for the national title.

Did you listen to his Presser on the main page? He is still very impressed with that '95 team.

I remember his post-game interview with the CBS guy he said "by far the best team we've played, I think in the 6 years I've been at Florida. I mean Nebraska's just way better than us. They outcoached us, they outplayed us. You really gotta give Coach Osborne and his staff credit for really getting those kids to play hard every play."

Wonder where he voted us two weeks ago before our match-up became likely... Thinking we may have gone up on his ballot once this started to happen :) but I am just speculating.
