DH coming to the National League?

Looks like the pandemic is going to make the National League adopt the DH.

Personally, I like the DH. In my opinion the strategy argument of the pitcher hitting is way overblown. The National League rules force the manager to make changes. The DH makes the strategy more difficult because its not dictated by the pitcher's spot hitting or not. These days with 5 and 6 innings being the max, the pitcher was only going to get up twice anyway. I've watched way too many early inning rallies get killed because they only pitched to 7 batters, walking the 8th place hitter to get to a .100 hitting pitcher.

NL DH? - this Covid @#$% is really starting to piss me off
Agreed. Never cared for the DH. It never really has made sense to me. I think it's a freaking cop out to not have your pitcher swing the pine. I always loved it, when a team walked the guy before the pitcher and then the pitcher jacked it for a base hit or better.

I've read where most pitchers are for the DH. Most would rather be in the dugout preparing for the next inning, not swinging a bat, or god forbid, running the bases where they could get hurt. If it's a matter of injury and/or money, most want to only be pitchers. Granted there are a few that are pretty good hitters, but most just would rather not do it.

I'm sure my golf handicap would improve if I could designate putters like Bobby Locke or Ben Crenshaw to finish out once I manage to get on the green .... perhaps designate Rick Barry to shoot my free throws. Knew this day was coming, just diminishes the strategy of the game which is a large part of the appeal IMO.

I would argue the DH enhances the strategy. In the NL you only have to pitch to 7 batters, if there's a rally in the lower part of the order, walk the catcher, strike out the pitcher, inning over. To me, that's boring.

cool & to each their own... I find deciding leave in or pinch hit, double switch, etc.. just more interesting to me than watching old guys who can no longer field a position swing the bat in the Junior Circuit.

Let the game alone, the way it has always been played! Next, you'll see cheer leaders along the foul line!!!!!!!! Geesh!!!! Let's continue to play the game the way it was meant to be played; get your damn pitcher in the batting box!! ;)

There are few things in all of sports I am as passionate about as keeping the f***ing DH out of the NL. I don't think the strategy argument is overblown at all, especially later in the game where relievers never swing the bat and depending where they are coming in the order you are forced to weigh matchups v. burning multiple pitchers in one half inning just because they can't hit.

I have little respect for DHers and even less for the AL and the bastardized baseball they play. I feel so strongly about this that when ranking all 30 teams in order of preference the highest an AL team can come in is 16th.

And as far as pitchers not wanting to hit I can't say I blame them, if I was horrendous at something I wouldn't want to do it on a national stage either, but the solution isn't get someone to do that part of my job for me, the solution is get better at that part of my job.

Rant over.

I can't wait for my cheating Astros to beat the cheating Yankees ,and red-sox. Give me some sports!
