I am not sure defender would be his position. He catches the ball well and has some speed, but defense did not seem to be his future from what I saw.

Nebraska lost a recruit from its 2024 class on Sunday when defensive back Callen Barta flipped to Kansas State.

W/o reading a single comment, I will say he got the offer he was waiting for. Not sure if he preferred KSU over KU but he wasn’t going to Nebraska UNLESS neither of the Kansas schools offered.

He wasn't even on our 2024 class 247 list before his decommit.

He was pretty far down on NF2L's rating list (25/26). Not all that big of a deal as we are well stocked at DB. Barta decommits and NU adds Benning in the same week, the Huskers came out ahead of the game.

I always thought he was somewhat of a reach. Wouldn't surprise me if Rhule & Co. backed off of him somewhat in order to make space for someone else.

Rumor down here in Kansas is that Nebraska backed off on him as Benning’s commit got to be more certain.
