Because nothing officially needs to be announced until it is public (IE a public institution needs to put that on their payroll). I guess I would ask, why does it HAVE to be announced? My guess is that Rhule will announce it on Monday. Or, it could be all BS. I certainly do not have a crystal ball. But I think the source is pretty good. There is also other things like Cortez Mills, Terry, and maybe a few more that seem to imply DH will be here. If DH is not here, then we have a big problem. Losing the depth we will be losing, possibly White, and not having an OC, you can kiss next year good bye too. But I will doom and gloom later. Because I think DH is going to be here.

There is no downside in making the announcement now. He's already the OC. Making the contract official for 2 years only helps recruiting.

It's an odd situation with him already having the job, I just don't see why it wouldn't be announced today if it's done.

Now, maybe it isn't done but it's close and it needs a vote from the school on some part of it, so it has to wait a few days?

More likely it needs a few extra days to inform coaches who will not be staying: WR, RB, maybe even OL which are part of DH accepting deal to stay as OC.

Then announce the restructuring of the offense all at he same time.

Changing of ST coach not part of OC contract put entirely necessary and I'm sure tha DH has talked at length with HCMR about this in a general quality review of the program.

I think he was trying to score points and make a low scoring game into a high scoring game for one side. Those plays work for touchdowns and we are all citing the brilliance of DH as a play caller. HH doesn’t get protection and whiffs a little on the throw. Nelson gets to the right spot but finds that the blocker (Fidone) whiffs on the block. Many times when plays don’t work it’s the execution rather than the play caller.

I agree but there might be downside with existing coaches. That said, he is our OC until he is not. So if you are really concerned that recruiting is an issue, I can assure you.... the recruits know if he is the OC or not.
 
Just remember that the offense will be DH’s instead of Satterfield’s if he gets the OC position. So anyone thinking that it will be what we’ve seen the last 3 weeks is not seeing the scheme of Holgorsen. I’m looking forward to having a different set of plays and scheme that fits what DH did at all his recent stops.
 
SH also said he came up to learn the NFL type O during one of his press conferences. What would be awesome is if he could blend things allowing the power run to coexist with his passing concepts.

I think you're right. It may be due to a limit for all state employees under state law, if I recall correctly. For the purpose of fiscally responsibility they can't give multi year contracts, which generally is a great idea. I believe the legislature had to exempt head coaches and assistants and in assistants cases they said no more than 2 years, or something like that.

So it's not just coming from Matt Rhule or dumb administrators. It:s actually a thing.

I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
