Looks like he will provide depth, scoring around the basket, and may develop into something nice. 2-for-2 player.

Really liking this addition. At minimum a depth piece, could end up starting before it's all said and done. Love the roster moves by Fred and staff. Can't wait for next season...

This kid has a real understanding of playing in the lane, very similar to Walker and Mast in many ways. He uses a nice little jump hook, a favorite of mine, and he is able to use both hands and the glass to get shots off. He runs better than Mast, and looks a little more athletic. I really like we seem to be adding players who understand the game, and use footwork and smarts, not just crazy athleticism. Not that springs and quickness would be a bad thing…

If the choice is super athlete or good basketball player. I take basketball player every time.

Last years team was full of basketball players. They did alright.

There are only so many super athletic basketball players out there and they probably aren’t coming to Nebraska. I love guys that have 36” verticals and can dunk with the best of them, but if they can’t hit a 15 footer consistently they better have 5 dunks every game.

This is a great point. If you compare the years in the past where we struggled (and Im going way back here) vs when we had really good teams it many times was athleticism VS bball players. There were lots of years we had great athletes that just werent good BBall players.

The funny thing is most, not all, but most super athletic players don’t really seem comfortable in a system. In order to use that athletic ability, it helps if they can create a one on one situation that allows them to beat someone. That usually requires them to have the ball in their hands more often. Fred’s current system has everyone getting touches, and very little Mano a Mano, and even when we do see it, it’s created by a defender struggling to recover, and a guy like Frager Or Sam driving hard to the basket.

What we saw last year was truly a pleasure for us old school guys.
