Curse Broken?

I’m happy for the guys who were here 5-6 years and went through 3-4 years of poor coaching and development to be able to leave on a winning note in the postseason. Matt Rhule and his crew have done their best to get these guys to believe they can win and get through adversity. Unfortunately 2 years of stability couldn’t fully erase their previous 3-4 years experience

While I appreciate the thought and am enjoying the win, this should not have been this close of score. When and only when the Cornhuskers beat a top 10 team will the curse be broken.
Didnt they beat a top10 Mich St under Riley? Became more so cursed after that year if you ask me.

I want to feel good about the game today...I really do. But I still have many concerns. BC did not look like a good team, and we had a lot of breaks. I guess winning today was a whole lot better than the alternative. But to think that we should be thrilled about 7-6 and a win in the dreariest bowl game I've ever watched. Man, we've fallen a long way.

In my book, the next step HAS to been fixing special teams. It's incredibly frustrating to watch them ruin one game after another. They almost ruined this one. Think about where we would be today with decent special teams: Probably ranked and playing another ranked team in the sunshine this week.

Fix special teams, and we might even reach the lofty heights of teams like Iowa State, Kansas State, or Boise State!
I agree. Our D kept BC out of the endzone for most of the game but the 2 times BC got into the Red Zone and didn't kick a field goal was curious. BC failed to convert four fourth downs, including two inside the 10-yard line. That could have been 6 points. If they had opted to kick a field goal (and made it) instead of going for it on 4th down this might have been a different outcome. Instead of 20-15 it could have been our loss, 20-21.

But then there's MR going for a fake FG instead of kicking a sure thing! that would have been an additional 3 points that would have allowed us to win 23-21.

DR needs to practice hitting the receiver on the long throws. They were off and he needs to be more aware of where the first down marker is when he slides.

I thought our O line did well to protect Raiola. But BC was without their star end rusher.

But all in all we won a one score game!!!! Congrats to our D for holding them inside our 10 yard line, twice!

Our team will be instantly better once the ST are fixed. It cost us Iowa. There's probably at least one more game this season.

We will go from mediocre to good once we have WR that can get separation or blow past coverage. Barney may be that let's see.

We become Nebraska again if/when we get a dominant offensive line. Really that simple.

It this time we overcame it.

Yes, but the question is whether the talent and mental fortitude is now just good enough to overcome a curse?

How do we know the curse is broken if there are still things happening that are the same as what led to losses in the past?

You control the game with an outstanding line, which we have not had. They are really improving our pass protection but they need to dominate when running the ball. Opens up everything else. I think we have some up and coming youngsters that are going to surprise some people next year. GBR

I wonder how we would have done if we had a running offense (as in Osbornes years) like Navy and Army. They've proven you can win 10 games with a good O line and running back field! Army is 12-2 and Navy is 10-3.

When we overcame them this time . That has to become a trend tho for curse removal

Yes I am interested in seeing players like Brix and Sledge and others

BC fans said their kicking game has been bad this year. During halftime, their kickers missed some short practice kicks. I think O'Brien didn't trust them in the wet, chilly conditions.
