As the top rated QB in the country I would think it would be one of winning
That's not how it works.
One player, who has taken two snaps at the FBS level isn't a culture in and of his own.

If “culture” was still a problem, the team would have collapsed repeatedly and cratered mid season. Culture WAS a HUGE issue with the previous staff and many players involved in the transition.
The main problem, IMO, is a ’winning’ problem. T.O.’s teams didnt even have the belief that they could lose, other than to OU in the 70’s. It was KnOWN that they would win. It wasnt even a belief in winning, it was part of the process.
This team has foind so many ways to lose, they expected it. Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads every game, sphincters puckered waiting for the inevitable collapse. It was like watching ISU in the 90’s every time they had a chance to upset a big team (with the notable exception of NU 1992).
I suspect, and hope, that the new QB, OC, and assistants will reverse that mindset. If they dont, it will be on another HC to instill that winning edge.
If the same warts show up again this season and the team struggles like the last few years there will be no other option than to move on. New coaches, new talent, new enthusiasm. If same results, it is systemic and needs blowing up. If they clean up just a few issues, 8-4 is very doable.I could not care less what some low rent KSU scribe had to say about the problems with Husker football. IMO we've lost a lot of games mostly because of some damn poor coaching before and during games not because the culture was so terrible. Winning starts with paying attention to small details (need we flog ST play again) and above all solid coaching for every position. Perhaps with the new staff those issues will be addressed and improved. Singing kumbaya in the locker room isn't going to win a bunch of games this coming season. Our players didn't quit nor pack it in the games I watched last season. We lost most games because of some very bad breaks, bad calls and shooting ourselves in the foot. Frost either fixes it this season or Nebraska needs to move on with a new HC imo.
Not to sound bitter, but the 3 Nebraska transfers to KSU were a 7th year LB who would of been 2nd string at best, a walk-on WR, who averaged about 10 catches a season with zero td’s, and AM, a great person but only above average QB who never engineered a comeback and lost multiple games due to freshman mistakes every year he started. But all great people for sure and will always be huskers!
KSU got AM and we got CT and Purdy! Lets compare stats and wins, between starting QB's at the end of the season. I hope AM has a good season but I'm also happy he's found a new home.Sometimes people need a fresh start and athletes are no different.
I wish them the best.
Highest rated prospect in the history of recruiting. As the top rated QB in the country I would think it would be one of winning
OU gets @Nebraska, and home to Kansas State, back to back. I think this could be Kleimans best team yet. I’d love to see the Cats knock off OU the week after NU beats them.KSU got AM and we got CT and Purdy! Lets compare stats and wins, between starting QB's at the end of the season. Either he is lying, he can’t read his interview subject, or he really did get a vibe from Martinez that there is something amiss in the locker room in Lincoln. That concerns me but doesn’t necessarily surprise me. And I know that’s a shock to you.I got a kick out of the article. The biggest story in it is how, after all these years, we are still in their heads.
But it will be interesting how AM performs in a different type of competition like the Big 12.
So do you think our sports writers lie about Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, or anyone else kicking our rear? Why would a Kansas state writer feel the need to tarnish his reputation? He obviously got a read from Martinez that there were issues in the locker room and that concerns me but doesn’t necessarily surprise me.a wildcat scribe saying/implying negative things about DONU?... shocked. second hour - discusses how water. is wet
Wandale? AM? Spielman? The last 3 years we didn’t lose just bench warmers but our three biggest play makers. If this has happened to another team in the nation I would be absolutely shocked.of course someone who USUALLY hits the portal, is either not playing, or somehow isnt fitting in, so it stands to reason that they would say its lockeroom chemistry, or culture. guys who leave are unhappy about something usually, i would think rarely does someone leave who has all things going in the right direction. spielman 2 yr ago could be the exception, he was just coming off a 1000+ yd season.
Care to dispute this @goodnterribles ?? Is there anything in this post not true or easily verified? You need to get me out of your head dude. There must be an alarm that rings every time I post so you can come running with your cute little laughing emoji. Very mature.Wandale? AM? Spielman?
