"There were a lot of shots at Nebraska (in the press conference) that I don't think were intended to be shots but they certainly were heard as shots up north. ... I am struck by the fact that now K-State has three Nebraska transfers, and we've talked about it on the Powercat Podcast, we're actually surprised it's not more than that.

“And all three of those players talk about the culture of Kansas State being something they haven't seen before. If you're a Nebraska fan, and you're wondering why you're struggling and you can't get over the hump, you've got a culture issue when the players are so openly admitting that they haven't seen a locker room that's cohesive like that.

If “culture” was still a problem, the team would have collapsed repeatedly and cratered mid season. Culture WAS a HUGE issue with the previous staff and many players involved in the transition.

The main problem, IMO, is a ’winning’ problem. T.O.’s teams didnt even have the belief that they could lose, other than to OU in the 70’s. It was KnOWN that they would win. It wasnt even a belief in winning, it was part of the process.

This team has foind so many ways to lose, they expected it. Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads every game, sphincters puckered waiting for the inevitable collapse. It was like watching ISU in the 90’s every time they had a chance to upset a big team (with the notable exception of NU 1992).

I suspect, and hope, that the new QB, OC, and assistants will reverse that mindset. If they dont, it will be on another HC to instill that winning edge.

hard to argue with anything in that article. frost has been a disaster at NU, despite pulling t25 recruiting classes. hard to see how culture isn't a factor.
Losing is sometimes hard to shake. Right now, it’s part of Nebraska’s culture. Until that mindset changes…..it will be more of the same. I’m just not sure that everyone at Nebraska has been on the same plane.

Hoping the transfers can help, but are not a lot of them from losing cultures

Wait and see

Imagine if you will the culture a QB like Ewers would have brought.

Sorry but what you describing is a culture issue. We definitely need to get that we can’t lose culture going.

That's a part of the culture for sure. But I think what @FeelLikeAStranger is saying is more in reference to a cohesive locker room. The way that the team continued to battle, even when coaches had been fired and the season was effectively lost, speaks to the culture as much as anything. Frost even talked about how strong the bonds were in the locker room throughout the season.

Also, this is a talking head saying that former Huskers were saying there was a culture problem at Nebraska. Where are the quotes from the players taking shots at Nebraska and the culture?
