Neon Deion is reminding me how Chuck Fairbanks ruined Colorado football when he became their head coach after getting run out of Norman in the 70's. He spent way over his budget on uniforms, logo redesign, and general non football related PR nonsense. Sports Illustrated did a feature article on how bad he was. Deion is a bit more personable but he isn't winning. I took one look at those gold face masks and could see his dismissal (if the University can afford it) coming soon. My impression is his assistants are doing the best they can but without coordination from the top guy who spends a lot of time making commercials and, sadly, on some major health problems. I have no sympathy for the fans who are terrible (with the exception of that cute buff fan chick who sat behind me at memorial stadium at the 2000 colorado game and flirted with me most of the game). I would be surprised if he makes it through the season.
