When the Creighton formula works, they are tough to beat. Against KU, they hit 3s, they could open things up and get production out of Kalk, and they got a great win. They were not hitting against Nebraska, and we could pressure Kalk with our size and post help defense, and that was the difference. KU couldn't take two steps away from guys without seeing another 3 drop in. The one thing that did concern me was McDermott's near refusal to use his bench, which never makes sense to me, and with a couple of guys under the weather, seemed even stupider than usual. I am one of the few who truly believe that if I were putting a team together, I'd be working to be able to go 8 to 10 deep. That isn't saying that there isn't going to be some drop off, but taking minutes off of guys over the course of the season is huge in March. December and January should be played with the idea of building to March.
