Consensus 4* (2027) QB Trae Taylor Has Committed To Nebraska

There are plenty of complaints now about Friday night college games and leaving high school football alone. I'm thinking about the fairness to local players who's ultimate moment in football may be winning a high school championship. The competition should be as fair as possible for those kids, and I can see why people might complain.

Open enrollment is a good thing for high school sports, but this may be a case where the rule is used in such a way it's really more about college football than high school football, and I'm not sure that line should be crossed. At least when it comes to teams competing for state championships. Is it really a state championship if one team has 2, 3, or 4 five star out of state players that are all committed to Nebraska.
The problem in Nebraska is in Class A as there are only 32 teams and maybe only 10 will compete yearly for any kind of Championship in Football due to open enrollment It's been a problem for a while now as some Omaha and Lincoln schools have forfeited as to not be blown out and be physically dominated. Teams like Westside and Millard South have been so much better than most teams and scores of 49 - 0 at halftime have happened with regularity

With open enrollment there are two elements to consider, sports related and academic related. You hate to see some kids lose out on the academic side of open enrollment if the rules are changed because of the sports side.

You are right it does come down to just a few teams that have a shot at a title each year. Not sure what the answer is, but how ever it comes down some people are not going to be happy.

Agree, but it will be interesting as more players might move talent elsewhere unintentionally, especially in this day of play vs sit.
It could push some players off of MS to other teams.

With two guys transferring in from out of state, you have to wonder how long it will be before other class A schools start complaining about this being unfair. Millard South is being compared to IMG, but if what I read is correct IMG doesn't compete for state championships with other teams.
How about they already are complaining...for over a year.

Someone else coined the name "NFL Lite". Now we have "CFB Lite".

How soon are recruiters going to start showing up for kids' first day of kindergarten to offer NIL deals?

The scenario you just described sounds like a good plan and explains why he would Live in Lincoln and drive to Millard for that one semester
Trae also has made some comments about wanting to be able to be present for any recruiting visitors. He's watched Glengarry Glen Ross.
