If Cam can stay healthy the next couple of years he may become the highest paid center at the time he signs his new contract.

Well, for all that Frost jacked up . . . he sure had the right idea moving Cam to center. He'll make a great living assuming he stays healthy.
Congrats to Cam.

SF got that right for sure but failed to provide the coaching to develop Cam once he converted to center. His first two years at center were pedestrian.

Clearly the eagles saw that potential drafting him as the 51 st pick which his performance at Nebraska did not warrant but they knew they had the coaching to realize his potential and they did.

His first two years were his first two years EVER at center. You would expect pedestrian. He was 3rd team All- B1G in 2021.

It took Scott Fraud and his cohorts two years to teach Cam to quit snapping the ball way over the QB's head, and even then, it was because some NFL dude was visiting and suggested an obvious fix. (Dr. Rob did a segment on this some years ago).

Cam was a strong blocker from the get-go at center. His primary issue were the high number of bad snaps, which really was a result of very poor (non-existent, actually) coaching. As @PaSker pointed out, it was easily resolved. I think one of our former NFL Centers (Garrison? IIRC) a journeyman from the late Solich era taught him better snap technique.

He was a monster blocker his last year on top of very good snapping. The Eagles drafted him expecting that Kelsey would retire after Cam's Rookie year. They decided to bring Kelsey back from retirement and moved Cam to guard.

I think his best attribute was his athleticism. He was able to pull and get out ahead on sweeps and off tackle runs. Not many centers are able to do that. His Philly predecessor (Jason Kelce) is arguably an NFL HOFer and they didn’t miss a beat with Jurgens. Heck their “tush push” going right over the top of him remains unbeatable.

Whoopee. You can teach a junior high student to snap the ball in one week but under SF it took two years so yes I was being generous when I said his first two seasons were pedestrian

I would say Kelce has a tremendous chance to be Hall of Famer. He had a great career, has great name recognition, and was instrumental in a play that was unstoppable (Tush Push).

I think he gets into the Hall of Fall but not sure in his first year of eligibility.

7 players in the HOF who were primarily centers. One of the least represented positions in the HOF. Only two players who played in the 21st century are in the HOF.

Dermonti Dawson - 2000 (retired)
Mick Tinglehoff - 1978
Jim Otto - 1974
Mike Webster - 1990
Dwight Stevenson - 1987
Kevin Mawae - 2009
Jim Langer - 1981

Per Pro Football Reference (Langer, Tinglehoff and Mawae) have lower ratings than Kelce. The other 4 are rated better than Kelce. Kelce has played in 193 games including playoffs that is more than Dawson, Stevenson and Langer.

Kelce fits with it the profile of these guys and probably will be in sooner than later.

Please show me a junior high student who’s able to do that with a 325lb nose tackle breathing down his neck, while calling protections and preparing to sprint out wide on a sweep.
